Pray for Pastor Jean Willy Jeanty and his family. Some of you will remember Pastor Jean Willy, and traveled and worshiped with him and his family, both in Carrefour, and at the church at Anse a Galet, on La Gonave.  We received the following email from Pastor Beril:

Hi George, Bob & all,
It is with great sorrow I am announcing you the grief that we have had in the mission field in the past week. One of our pastors (Pastor Willy Jeanty) has lost his wife Carmel Ferus Jeanty 37 years old. She died of brain tumor on October 6, and is buried this Tuesday October 15. The funerals were held at Grace Baptist church of Carrefour from 7- 9.AM. I have shared the news orally with Bob Good, but I did not share it yet to all of you.
Carmel was a very active woman engaged in children ministry and ladies ministry at Grace Baptist Church of Carrefour. She left behind 2 children 11 and 4 years old. Her death has left much grieve in the church of Carrefour and the whole field.

Please pray for Pastor Willy Jeanty and his 2 children. If the board could send words of sympathy and encouragement to him it would be well done. Pastor Willy Jeanty is a graduate from GBI and serves as the third pastor at Carrefour church and ministering churches in remote areas of the field. He used to be regional director on the Island of La Gonave for several years.

PRAISE we have launched our new and improved website. You can get there by going to: It is still a bit of a work in progress, but we are making improvements and changes regularly, so check it out!

You can make a difference in the life of a child in Haiti!

PRAY for the Project Child Program
Here is a quote from an article in Christianity Today, "Overall, sponsorship makes children 27 to 40 percent more likely to complete secondary school, and 50 to 80 percent more likely to complete a university education. Child sponsorship also appears to be the great equalizer in education." and, "...evidence that they are more likely to grow up to be both community leaders and church leaders"
As we look forward to the future, we are anticipating the opportunity to improve the educational experience for the students in the Grace Mission schools.    Our goal with Project Child is to provide a supplement to teachers’ salaries, at least three meals each week, uniforms, school supplies and a portion for administration costs.  We keep the administration costs to fifteen percent.  Each sponsorship is $25, and goes to a particular school, rather than a specific child.  We are working toward improving the educational quality of our schools, and to make sure the schools have a Bible based curriculum.  We currently are working to bring two schools, Riviere Froide and Gode under full sponsorship.  With 500 sponsors, we can have all 13 of our schools under sponsorship.  We currently have 50 active sponsors, and some sponsors who have had to drop out of the program due to other financial commitments, so we need to replace them as soon as possible.  We have lost almost 50 sponsors since we started the program six years ago.  You can sign up on the website, call the mission office, or send us an email, if you wish to commit to sponsoring a child.

PRAISE for the commitment of two matching funds of $5,000 each toward the purchase of a new Grace Center vehicle.  We have a way to go, but it is an excellent start.  We need a total of $35,000-$40,000, so please continue to pray for the Lord’s provision of the need.  We have a total of just under $21,000 toward the need.
PRAY for the need for a Grace Center manager.  Grace Center is partially closed until God provides someone to manage the facility.
PRAY for the needs of Grace Mission, particularly in the area of financial needs.  We face difficult economic times in our country, but God is able to provide.  Please pray for the provision of our needs in Haiti.
PRAY for George Callister as he makes plans to visit Haiti, as well as churches here in the US.
If your church or small group is interested in having George, or another mission representative visit, please let us know.
PRAY as we anticipate progress in the remaining months in the ministry in 2013.  We face some challenges, but we know God is able to guide and provide.
PRAY as we work to finish Grace Center.  We still need a couple of projects completed, including the landscaping of the property, putting screen on the patios, a meeting pavilion and etc.
